Tangier
Tangier is a city in the north of Morocco, capital of Tangier-Arzila and the region of Tangier-Tetouan.
It is situated on the northwestern tip of Africa, on the Atlantic coast and at the western entrance of the Strait of Gibraltar, which joins the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and separates Morocco from Spain. It is 14 km straight from the Iberian peninsula.

The medina of Tangiers have always fascinated with the charm of Petit Socco Square and its cafes.
The old Mendoub Palace, built in 1929, situated north of the medina, is now a mansion for foreign VIPs. The museum situated at the southern end, exhibits paintings and a bedroom is dedicated to the American writer Paul Bowles.
It is a very pleasant walk in Mendoubia Park located north of Grand Socco Square. A giant fig tree and a dragon tree, allegedly more than 800 years old, stands out from the visit. Visit the Rue de Liberté, a shopping street in the Place de France which is the heart of the modern city. There you will find the famous Grand Café de Paris and the El Minzah Hotel, both of which were famous haunts of the arts and literature of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This place is still very fashionable. Enjoy the wonderful view of the medina and the harbor and the bay of Tangier from the Faro Square, with its canons, is worth visiting. The mythical Hafa café overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar from the top of the cliff.
Gastronomy
Traditional foods in Tangiers consist of Cuscuz, Tajines, Pastilla, Brouchettes and Harira among others.
"Couscous" - Morocco is synonymous with couscous and Tangier is no exception. It is considered a specialty. It is made with a variety cover of vegetables and meat, usually chicken, roasted lamb and vegetables.
Some of the restaurants in Tangier cook with lots of oil, resulting more greasy than normal.
"Tajines" - This is basically a cooked stew with thick prune sauce and or other fruits and vegetables. Usually they use a large crock pot for cooking. It's absolutely delicious.
"Harira" - This is a healthy soup, usually made from chickpeas. It is very heavy and a popular lunch choice - perfect for strolling around the city.
"Brouchettes" - is the most seen to eat in the streets of Tangier. They are basically kebabs with various types of meat or swordfish along with a wide variety of other ingredients.
"Pastilla" - This dish is made of pigeon meat, rice and egg and topped with a sweet puff pastry. It seems a little strange, but it is extremely tasty and with a lot of filling.
Weather
The weather in Tangier is generally dry, there is a short rainy season from November to March. In Morocco the temperatures vary greatly depending on the season.
During the summer, the heat can be stifling to the south and southwest of the country in the desert areas. It can be cool during the nights and the winter is cold, the important thing is to be careful.
Spring, when it reaches its twilight, and summer birth are the best times to travel. It does not rain, temperatures are nice during the day and cool at night. The average annual temperature in Tangier is 20ºC.
