Oslo
Oslo (formerly Christiania or Kristiania) is the capital and largest city of Norway. It is located in the southeast of the country and simultaneously holds the status of commune and county. It is the city where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded. The capital was voted the city with the 24th best quality of life in the world.

Oslo is the cultural, scientific, economic and governmental center of Norway. It has its attention focused on business, banking, industry and shipping. The city is home to many companies focused on the maritime sector, some of them being the largest in the world.

Oslo is considered a global city. It is considered to be one of the most expensive cities in the world.
Tourism
Founded by Harald Hardrada in 1048 at the bottom of a fjord and even today surrounded by a dense forest, Oslo life is closely linked to the sea.

Not as beautiful as some of its Scandinavian neighbors, yet Oslo is a nice town that deserves to be known. Among its main attractions are the Viking Ship Museum - which preserves three original vessels and several objects of the great Nordic explorers and the fantastic Fram Museum, built especially to house the ship Fram, used by national heroes like Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen in their countless trips, including the successful conquest of the South Pole.

Other symbols of the city are the massive Akershus fortress, built to protect the harbor, and the Frognerparken park, famous for the numerous sculptures by Gustav Vigeland.

Enjoy also to enjoy this city with walks and boating and cycling in summer or skiing, between December and March.
Gastronomy
The gastronomy of Oslo is rich and quality due to the raw materials they use such as fresh fish, high quality moose meat and reindeer.

Among the typical dishes, stand out those elaborated with the product "star" of this city - the fish! Dishes such as grilled smoked salmon; lutefisk, typical of Christmas, made with breaded cod; meatballs and meat stews like lamb, venison, reindeer and soups like the betesupe made with meat, vegetables and potatoes.

And to end a meal what better than success as dessert, the brunost, which is an exquisite typical Norwegian brown goat cheese. The fruits of the forest are synonymous to make the desserts, although they also accompany some meat dishes, especially the ones of hunting. Noteworthy are blueberries, wild strawberries, raspberries, blackberry and many others that also serve to make delicious juices and strong drinks as well as jams.
Climate
Oslo's climate, which is classified as humid continental, is tempered by the Gulf Stream, which leaves the milder temperatures in the Norwegian winter, mainly in the southern and eastern parts of the country. In summer, the sun shines for more than 19 hours a day and temperatures range between 12 and 22 ° C. In the spring there are sunny days, so temperatures range between 0.8 ° C and 9.1 ° C in April and between 10.6 and 20.4 ° C in June. In the autumn there are many rains, marked by days covered and cold, with precipitation of snow in the last weeks. Temperatures range between 7.5 and 15.1 ° C in September and between -1.5 and 3.2 ° C in November. In winter there are days ranging from sunny to snowy. Temperatures range from -7 ° C to -2 ° C, but cold waves can cause the temperature to drop below -15 ° C. The annual precipitation of rain is 763 mm and the annual snowfall is 772 mm, which is concentrated between the months of November to March, having February as the month when it snows, with 218 mm.
