De Renaissance ging hier ook duidelijk zichtbaar in de centrale tank tuin van vierhoekige plant met een grotere schaal met maskers en een kleinere met hoofden van fauns.
In 1973, na de buitenkant verhogingen van het klooster schilderwerken, zet de ontdekte de primitieve portaal van de kapittelzaal, de Manueline periode. Het had moeten zijn bij het bouwen van een nieuwe in de kleinere, achttiende eeuw. Weer zichtbaar opschrift in Latijnse tekens verwijzend naar de aflevering van "St. John in de woestijn", dat de achttiende-eeuwse werk was bedekt geworden.
Vandaag de dag is in handen van Mercy Estremoz, die werkzaam zijn in het klooster van de afhankelijkheden Estremoz pool van de Universiteit van Evora in de zuidelijke vleugel en het Living Science Center Estremoz, een interactief en educatief museum uitsluitend gewijd aan de geologie.

Het klooster van St. John van de boete, beter bekend als klooster van Maltezas, was de zetel van monialen van de Orde van Malta van de eeuw. XVI. Het klooster is het grootste van alle kloosters van de stad en toont ons Manuelijnse architectuur. Elke vleugel heeft tien bogen, onderverdeeld in vier tweelingbogen en twee eenvoudige bogen, alle sigladas door de meestersbedden die de stenen die hen vormen hebben verstrekt en betoverd. De stelen (centrale deel van de kolommen) worden gesteund op vierkante basissen, waarvan de kapitelen onduidelijk eenvoudig en glad zijn of met naturalistische motieven. De consoles in de ogive kluis, met typisch Manuelijnse motieven en met antropomorfe en zoomorfische motieven, zijn vrij nieuwsgierig en artistiek interessant.
