Im Terreiro der Baluarte de San José wissen wir bis zum dritten Viertel des achtzehnten Jahrhunderts nicht, welche Strukturen dort bestanden haben werden.
Wir wissen nur, dass es eine Feingeschirrfabrik gab, die Luis Freme da Roza gehörte, der ungefähr von 1774 bis 1806 arbeitete.
In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde José Rodrigues Tocha (1817–1893), Vater von Ing. Dr. José Rodrigues Tocha (1850-1923) nutzte möglicherweise das vorhandene Grundstück und baute dort die erste Dampfmahlfabrik von ganz El, Alentejo, die für einen Zeitraum von 15 bis 20 Jahren vierteljährliche Truppen mit trockenem Brot und Futter versorgte Reihe von Jahren (1859-1874).

Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde das Gebäude in eine Korkfabrik umgewandelt, die zu einem unbekannten Zeitpunkt niederbrannte und in Trümmern lag.
In den letzten Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es eine Töpferei, in der Caetano da Conceição (der Alfacinha) das Arbeiten lernte.
Und in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts gab es eine Jagdwerkstatt. Und im unbebauten Gebiet fanden die Volksfeste der Stadt statt.
Die Ruinensituation des Anwesens verschärfte sich und blieb bis vor kurzem bestehen, als beschlossen wurde, das Denkmal zu sanieren und zu restaurieren und es in eine Hoteleinheit umzuwandeln.
Was den Ortsnamen "Patio de los Solares" betrifft, so kennen wir seine Herkunft nicht vollständig, da es in diesem Raum zumindest keine Bibliographie oder schriftlichen Quellen gibt, die dies offenbaren, es handelte sich nie um "Solar", sondern nur um Fabriken!
