The Santacruz Zoo Foundation is a non-profit entity created in July 2001 with the mission of Conserving Andean species in danger of extinction, Investigating, to contribute knowledge that benefits the conservation of wildlife, Educate to stimulate awareness public on the need to conserve and maintain a balance between nature and man and vision Research Center for the conservation of Andean species, an educational center specializing in environmental education that encourages sustainable development of natural resources.

The Santacruz Zoo is located in the Municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama - Department of Cundinamarca - Colombia; 9 kilometers after the Salto del Tequendama.

If you want to use the Public Transport system: The buses of the Cooperativa de Transportes Tequendama COOPTRANSTEQUENDAMA. They depart from the Bogotá transport terminal in the yellow module every 15 minutes and every 10 minutes on weekends.

At the transport terminal or at any agency of the Cooperativa de Transportadores del Tequendama you can acquire your ´´passport for the Zoo ´´ which includes the round trip ticket from Bogota and the entrance to the Santacruz Zoo, this passport is only valid for adults and is available for sale Monday through Friday. If you go by car, you must leave Bogotá on the south highway and take the route to Mesitas del Colegio, during the journey you will find signs informing you of the arrival at the Zoo.





Zoos are an ideal place to educate and recreate the respect, care and conservation of animal species, in such a way that our future generations, enriched by personal discoveries, come together in an attitude of appreciating and preserving life.

The Department of Education of the Santacruz Zoo Foundation has trained personnel in the educational area with more than 4 years of experience, which aims to be part of the school and university programs of the institutions that wish to visit us.
