Ilha Deserta is one of the best preserved and less frequented beaches in the Algarve. The access is made by sea, from the Pier of Porta Nova, being the crossing very pleasant, being able to be observed the labyrinths of sand and vasa of Ria Formosa, channels and banks of marsh. On the way we must also pay attention to the various birds that feed here, such as the flamingos.
About 10 km of silence and quietness characterize the deserted island, where everything seems to fit perfectly between worlds as distinct as land, sea and air. The sand breathes of life, feeding several species of mollusks: clams, shells and many other shells. The dune cord preserves its original vegetation and the flora finds its maximum splendor hiding in the inner slope the most fragile species. Also the fauna is protected, mainly birds: sandpipers, garajaus, terns of the sea, gaivinas or chiretas.
