Arbeit der Zivil manuelinischen Architektur hat viereckige Anlage und zwei Etagen Ecken in Ordnung gebracht, stark vergitterte Fenster Marmor. Das Außentreppengeländer wird von scheibenförmigen Dekorationskörpern getragen. In derselben Höhe befindet sich ein künstlerisch interessanter Balkon mit polilobierten Stangen und geformten Klammern.
Die Bezeichnung des Bezirksgefängnisses erhielt es im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert, und zwar im Jahr 1936, als die Regierung im portugiesischen Strafvollzug diese Rechtsfigur schafft, wo man maximal drei Monate Haft verurteilen diejenigen, würde in dieser Art von Ketten eingesperrt werden .
Counties Ketten sind im Jahr 1969 und der letzte Häftling wurde beendet, in den frühen 70er Jahren zu Évora bereits übertragen, nach mündlicher Informationen von ehemaligen Häftlingen Standorten.

Dieses Gebäude wurde in der Regierungszeit von D. Manuel I. (1495-1521) erbaut, gemessen an den architektonischen Besonderheiten. Es ist nur bekannt, dass bereits im Jahr 1497 existierte und wurde diese Dienste zu diesem Objekt direkt vom Königspalast (LIBERATO, 2007) übertragen.
