Es todo hecho en mármol blanco, al igual que todos los pelourinhos del Concelho de Estremoz. Fue cambiado a esta plaza probablemente en 1739, a juzgar por la inscripción grabada en la pilastra.

Esta copia fue construido en 1539 en el reinado de Juan III (r. 1521-1557), el sabor del Renacimiento francés, probablemente influenciado por el trabajo de Chanterenne maestro escultor francés que trabajó en Portugal en la primera mitad del siglo XVI.
